RICHARD M. INUKAI
May 25, 1943 - July 3, 2011
A gifted leader and friend who was the only Chairman of the Board to serve 2 consecutive terms and was a recipient of the Bronze Medallion, the BGCA's highest Volunteer Award. Mr. Inukai dedicated his life over the past 10 years as a Champion for Youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland.
Mr. Inukai's spirited commitment to the kids and the community is best symbolized by the Inukai Family Boys & Girls Club that re-opened in 2007 with $2.1 million in renovations,expanding from an 8,000-square-foot facility to a 20,000-square-foot center. The Inukai Family Boys & Girls Club has over 4,479 members and youth served, averaging more than 220 kids a day and distributing more than 800 snacks and lunches a week.
