The 2011 Showcase of Wine & Cheese was a tremendous success, raising more than $1.3 million with the support of thousands of businesses and individuals in the Portland community. At the Winemaker's Private Reserve Dinner, presented by the Ray Hickey Foundation, 500 guests gathered to pay tribute to the Portland Trail Blazers for their commitment to ‘make it better' for area kids. Special guest and keynote speaker, BGCA President and CEO Roxanne Spillett, spoke about the value of Boys & Girls Clubs in helping young people reach their dreams and NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver spoke of the tremendous value of partnerships such as the one between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland and the Portland Trail Blazers.
At the Showcase of Wine & Cheese, more than 2,000 wine lovers gathered to taste a wide variety of wines, cheeses and specialty foods.
